Hrm, well, believe it or not; Unieto was actually not first intentioned to be a comic. See, It was my RPing one-player game. I would go outside and just think up a character, then make my own world and stuff. The character I choose that day was Fuita. She wasn't the jack-ass she is today, she was a kind, heroic typical character that you usualy can see in most fantasy movies. That day I gave her a background (very similar to the PC in Shadows of Undrentide in Neverwinter Nights) then went inside. Later that night I was doodling on paint then I realized that I had made a head shape. I added on horns and two tails and more. The Kumen race was born, and without it, Unieto would probably be something WWAAAYYY different. Maybe a parody. The next day I decided to create another character, this is the Kumen you see in the comic now. Before he was greedy, nasty, and sarcastic. His original name was Aniko and Fuita's was Januo. I forgot the names (shockingly =p ) then I choose the names now when introducing them. Before the name change I decided "Why not make a comic about this?" it had been awhile since I thought of a good story idea, and I wasn't about to throw it away. And that was how Unieto was born.
